Lovin' Fall
Despite the fact that October is always my busiest month of the year, it might also be my favorite. The air is so crisp, the weather is starting to turn cooler, the leaves are changing...pretty soon it's time for wood-burning fires and hot chocolate! Yay! I love making Fall themed cakes, like this leaf applique wedding cake below - fondant leaves were pressed onto the icing and I made gumpaste leaves for a splash of color.
All of my customers are special and I strive to make each and every cake extraordinary, but I must admit that I gave a little bit of extra attention to a few cakes last weekend.
And what everyone has been waiting for, Angie Harmon's cake order...a ladybug for her sweet little girl's seventh birthday to go along with the adorable bug themed birthday party:
McKinley Mayor's 2 year old birthday cake:
Isabelle in her Fall wardrobe...she is starting to appreciate toys and one her favorites is, of course, Sophie the Giraffe!
Sunday we went to our first Halloween Costume party for little ones. Isabelle is going to learn how much I LOVE costumes!!! This is Isabelle in her golden retriever costume! Crockett seems to approve!
We decided to keep it simple and dress her in a little pumpkin outfit for the party...complete with green and black mary jane socks!
Isabelle's pediatrician is right up there on the top of our list of "very important people in our lives" these days. Eastover Pediatrics is on my speed dial, so you'd better believe I took some time to make Dr. Swetenburg's son's groom's cake extra special. We combined Raymond's love for kayaking with his love for his canine "kids" on this mountain scene cake:
