Our BIG Week

What a wonderful week it has been! I treated myself to a special week with my 1 year old since I have zero wedding cakes on the books for this weekend. I have been loving every minute!

Last weekend was full of first birthday parties, cakes and TONS of fun. Saturday we went to a pool party for Isabelle's buddy, Emmie, which got us all excited about our party the following day.

Isabelle always needs a few minutes to warm up to new places...Later we had a couple wedding cakes to deliver. This photo isn't great, so it's hard to see just how crafty the bride is - she made the cake stand as well as the cake topper! After a long day we treated Izzie to dinner out at her favorite spot, Zoe's. My good little eater gobbled down spinach and chicken wraps, amounting to a meal bigger than my own. This chickadee LOVES to eat! Finally I got to meet and hold my new niece, Sutton. She is absolutely beautiful! She is about a pound smaller than Isabelle was when I brought her home, but I still couldn't believe just how little she is. At last, the big beach bash! We had Isabelle's beach themed birthday party on Sunday afternoon and it was an absolute BLAST!!! She was a bit overwhelmed and preferred being on my hip during most of the party....at least until she had her first bite of cake!

The menu: chicken salad in mini phyllo cups, cream cheese and veggie pinwheels, caprese skewers, fruit skewers, fish cut-out mini pimento cheese sandwiches, goldfish...

...and of course CAKE!

The homemade hat didn't last long, but I managed to get a few pics.

Isabelle LOVED her cake. That's my girl! There are lots more pictures to see on my slideshow - click here. Thanks to family and friends for making the party such a wonderful celebration!

But, it wasn't over yet! We celebrated once again the following morning - a joint beach birthday playdate party for Isabelle and her buddy, Ann Carter with their playgroup friends.

MORE CAKE!!!?? of course!

Happy little 1 year olds! Since I had Isabelle all to myself this week we decided to make a visit to Discovery Place for the first time (with Cici who doesn't want to miss any firsts!).

Isabelle made new friends and had a ball!

A trip uptown also meant lunch with the grandparents and a visit to Granddaddy's office!!

Not so sure it was a highlight for Isabelle, but my dad was on cloud nine showing off his sweet grandbaby!
