I'm Back!
Last week was officially my first week back to work. I had made a few small cakes for friends and family during my "maternity leave", but with 6 cakes on the books for last weekend, I definitely think that means I'm back!
I do love my job. But was I really excited to get back to work? Sorry to disappoint all of you who think that I have the most fun job on earth...it's still work, and to be completely honest I was actually dreading going back to work! I have loved every minute with my precious new baby (even the crying!) and the thought of spending hours on end in the bakement did not get me very excited. Especially knowing that I could be spending that time with my baby.

This was Philip Renaldo's 1st Birthday Doggie themed Cake:
Working on a shaped cake (gotta love boys' birthdays!):

My niece, Lauren, turned 7! This cake went up to Charlottesville for her party.

But, I got back in the bakement, and once I got in my groove I remembered why I feel so lucky to have this job. However, juggling caring for Isabelle with working out of my home will definitely be a challenge. I'm so lucky that she has grandmothers who are eager to help out! I'm learning to make every minute count and that EFFICIENCY is the key! I've found something more distracting than facebook -- Isabelle! It's SO hard to get back to work when she starts smiling and cooing at me. She's just so freakin CUTE!
